Purity Facial Wash Review

Hi there! Today’s post is a review of a natural face wash by the brand Purity. Before purchasing this item I had never actually heard of the brand however on Holland&Barrett you can find a varied selection of products by them at reasonable prices. Purity offer skincare including items such as moisturisers, a cleansing lotion and a face mask etc. All the packaging across the brand is very understated and simple. The ingredients are mostly natural and organic but vary from product to product. It claims to be fragrance free across the brand too which is great for more sensitive skin.

So what were my main thoughts after using this face wash? I was quite impressed, a little went a long way and it was gentle on the skin. It foamed up really nicely and left my skin baby soft and extra clean. I’ve been using this product a while now on and off, my skin seems to like it and I haven’t had any breakouts from it. This particular item has a none-offensive clean soapy scent and I recommend it to others with sensitive skin which my skin is. It was nice to see this item is 98% natural and 70% organic, including ingredients such as almond oil and aloe vera. The facial wash comes in a 150ml bottle with a very modern cap which makes getting the product out really easy and also handy to travel with. Priced at £5.29 so it’s not too bad on the purse strings. Shop the brand here.

Does this product seem appealing to you? Do you have any skincare tips to share? Hope you had a lovely May, wow its whizzed by, see you in June! H xx

Summer Inspired Pineapple & Lime Beauty/lifestyle Haul.

Hoping that this summer is going to be fabulous weather wise, I incorporated three products into a haul to inspire that summer feeling. I love anything that smells fruity, and the scents included are some of my favourites. I also wanted to switch up what items are in my stash, I’d been running low on shower gel, lip balm and a new herbal tea. I bought these items from Naturisimo and Holland & Barrett. I’ve been getting into natural products, and the quality of these often are amazing. The first item I ordered was the organic and natural Hurraw! lip balm in lime. My blogger friend Emma, over at JustEmma.co.uk recommended this brand. I’ve not yet tried the product but I have high hopes and can’t wait to start using it.

Next I bought a Faith In Nature shower gel and bubble bath which is also organic and natural. I have actually started using it, and the pineapple and lime fragrance is gorgeous and such a nice product in general. Lastly I picked up this Charbrew pineapple and vanilla tea, and although I don’t know a lot about this brand for drinks, it really appealed to me. I think this tea range was new but have seen their iced tea selection before. It was a bit of an impulse buy but I’m really curious to what it’s going to be like and the packaging is pretty too!

What scents appeal to you for the summer months? Do you have any recommendations? Hope you are having a nice bank holl weekend so far!! :-) xxx

A Revisit to Star Buds Café for Hot Chocolate and Cake.

Hey all! :-) Hope you are all having a lovely weekend so far. It’s been a little quiet on my blog this week mainly due to going on holiday and being busy with other things. Today I’m back with a catch up post and to share my latest visit to Star Buds tea room based near Redcar. It’s a quaint little place to stop for a cuppa and homemade cake. My family and I have visited a good few times now and I recommend it if you live nearby. While I was there I had a giant hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream as well as a tiramisu inspired cake.

Both portions were huge, the cake came up a lot smaller on camera but it was a good chunk. I just about managed to munch it all down, it had a lovely sweet flavour and was really moreish. I was impressed with the hot chocolate, and its luxury taste. I will definitely be having the hot chocolate again, perfect for the colder months to warm me up. They offered different sized cups, I found the large a little big just because I had the cake as well. My Mum, Dad and I enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere of the café and we had a quick wander around the garden centre but it was raining so we made a dash for the car.

Do you like hot chocolate too? How’s your weekend been so far, been to any nice cafes? :-) xxx

Fashion Colouring Book for Adults

I received this gorgeous colouring book for Christmas last year and have slowly been colouring away at the different fashion illustrations. I’ve noticed in the past year colouring books for adults have become a big thing and especially popular in the blogging community. For those of you who are unsure of what an adult colouring book is, basically it’s where adults can enjoy colouring in often more detailed illustrations for fun. It has been said it can be good for mental health and in my experience this kind of thing is really therapeutic. This particular book has a catwalk theme which I love. The illustrations are of a high quality and are just the kind of thing I would like to colour in. I have been using coloured pencils but I know felt tip thin liners would work equally well. There are different brands of colouring books out there, this one is more budget friendly but the Millie Marotta ones look incredible too. Buy the featured colouring book here or one I recommend by Marotta here.

Have you jumped onto the adult colouring book craze? Did you find this post helpful/interesting? :-) xxx

M&S and Superdrug Beauty Haul

I’m back today with an online beauty haul that I am really excited to share with you. I bought somethings from Marks & Sparks as well as Superdrug. I was browsing online at M&S and found that their beauty section was spot on, I loved the brands they have available and many new ones that I’ve never come across before. I bought three items from Nature’s Ingredients, the products sounded super lovely and the values of the brand seemed excellent. I will go into further detail in another post but I will say they offer affordable products which are not tested on animals, BUAV approved, paraben free, and suitable for vegetarians and vegans. I will be doing a review shortly on the hand cream, shower gel and shower scrub! One last thing I bought from there was a moisturiser by Pure which got me super intrigued and has lots going for it including being made with 95% natural ingredients. Their ethos is great and I will be reviewing the product very soon, I can’t wait to test it out!

I repurchased some holy grail items from Superdrug that I keep coming back to time and time again. I have rebought the Rimmel Hide The Blemish concealer so many times now, it has a great coverage and the colour Ivory 1 is perfect for me. I treated myself to the Johnsons pampering wipes, these include a relaxing moonflower aroma perfect for bedtime. I find them so comforting and gentle on my skin. Finally I bought the Aussie Miracle Shine shampoo, and I forgot how good this was, it smells divine and leaves me hair shiny and tangle free. So I have a few items to keep my going now, but I think I will be shopping on M&S again, their delivery was quick and I was pleased with the products from initial testing. I often buy the odd thing from Superdrug, I’m a beauty card holder meaning I always get free delivery. I will link the review posts from my repurchases where I can too!

Hope you are having a pleasant day so far! Out of the products I bought, which caught your eye the most? Do you like M&S/Superdrug beauty too? :-) xxx

April Beauty, Fashion & Lifestyle Favourites

Hello to you all, hope you are having a nice bank holiday weekend so far. This year I’ve started introducing a monthly favourites post and these are fast becoming my most enjoyable to create. I actually shot the photos for this post earlier in the month, as even by then I had lots of items to show you. So there’s a mixture of things like entertainment, beauty products and miscellaneous that I am excited to share with you. I bought the Martian DVD earlier in the year, after watching it at the cinema it was something I wanted to rewatch on DVD. I was considering buying the book but from reviews the dialogue has quite a lot science speak in it that can be hard to follow. The film is very inspirational, Matt Damon plays the role of astronaut Mark Watney incredibly well.

Papertowns was a DVD I enjoyed this month too, I loved the mystery element of this film and it was a nice watch. I finally finished watching my Dawson’s Creek box set, it was the first time I had watched all the episodes in order, there was a mixture of okay episodes to some brilliant ones. The end made my cry too! I’ve been really into reading at the moment, I finished a book called ‘The Way We Were’ by Elizabeth Noble which I found on a second hand book stall for 25p. The book is about two childhood sweethearts Susannah and Rob who reconnect after meeting at a wedding. The book was written very well and the characters relationships are very central in the story.

I picked up April's edition of Elle which is currently my favourite type of magazine to read, I love the articles and focus on high end fashion. The glossy pages make it lovely to keep on a coffee table. I’ve been trying to use up items in my wardrobe that for whatever reason I have forgot about. I find I’m always reaching for the same things, so I’ve I decided to use up my brightly coloured scarfs particularly this pink one. I have the same one if so many colours from Primark, they just add a pop of colour to any outfit.

I bought this Garnier hand cream, the subtle mango scent is lovely and works nicely to smooth out my hands. However I was later informed the brand do animal testing so I’m unlikely to be repurchasing after using the tube up. I’ve been mixing this collection matte foundation with another, it’s a bit too dark for me at the moment but the formula is whipped and applies well to the skin. Technically it was the end of March but I painted my nails for Easter day and I choose this beautiful gold glitter colour by the Fearne Cotton brand, the formula is spot on. I rekindled my love for the Pukka Elderberry and Echinacea tea, and have been enjoying a mug of this every other day. On my playlist has been Fleur East's first album, it’s very catchy and poppy, I love ‘Sax’ so much!!

How has your month been? What have you been loving? Do we have a favourite in common? :-) xxx
