New Look Sale Shopping Haul :D

I mentioned in a previous haul that the New Look sale was really good at the moment. I made a special trip to my local New Look a little while back – sorry I’m a bit late posting but here it is...

I adore the blue denim check shirt I picked up – it has beautiful pastel tones in the actual check and the fabric is soft and easy to wear.

I was also delighted with the soft pink knit top I bought. It’s a nice knitted fabric so great for a transitional season piece. Its soft on the skin and the size was a lovely fit on me.

The white basic top I bought is just gorgeous. It’s a little floaty with the back of the fabric draping a little further than the front. Surprisingly I picked up the size 8 and it was still quite a generous size. I think this was mainly due to the oversized style of the garment.

Lastly I picked up some accessories. Unfortunately I haven’t had chance to get my wear out of the hair clips and rings yet as I’m having my room decorated and stuff is all packed away. Despite this they were a complete bargain and perfect for updating your style in a quick and easy way.

New Look purchases...
Denim Check Shirt SALE £8.00
Soft Pink Knit Tee SALE £6.00
Loose fit Plain Tee SALE £5.00
3 pack of mini hair clips SALE £2.00
4 pack of silver rings SALE £3.00

Johnson's Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes X 25 (Sale £1.52 @ Superdrug)

Today I thought I would review a product. I’ve used a couple of Johnson’s products in the past. The brand is known for baby products so you know your skin will be looked after well.

Previously I reviewed the dreamy skin night cleansing wipes and found them really amazing. Review for this here. The day version is also extremely good. I look for skin products which will be gentle and hypoallergenic.

These are definitely on par with the No7 Beautiful Skin Quick Thinking Wipes. Review for those here. Also if you love the No7 wipes but are looking for a cheaper alternative the Johnsons brand is fantastic.

The Johnsons packaging is lovely and simple and the price for 25 wipes is excellent. I find Superdrug often has half price offers but originally they sell at £3.05.

The wipes are non oily with just the right amount of moisture. They are a dream to use and are comforting on the skin. I tend to use these mainly of the morning or during the day. At night I switch to the dreamy night edition.

They are perfect for those times when taking off makeup with makeup remover and cotton pads is a bit of a chore and you want a quick answer.

How do you prefer to take off your makeup? Whats your favourite skin care brand?

Morning Lovely X

Morning all,

I thought I would start the day with a polyvore set and lil lifestyle post. Have y’all got Polyvore? If not it’s a great website to create fashion outfits and other cool stuff. If you would like to add me on their my name is ‘capstick13’ or visit www.polyvore.com.

I’ve been inspired to eat more healthy just recently and my family have gone on a little health kick. We’ve been eating wholemeal bread and more fruit and veg etc.

I went to a food festival in my local area last weekend and there was lots of amazing food. I mainly went for a day out and to spend time with my friends however picked up some cheese and granola for my parents.

I thought a breakfast theme would fit in with my polyvore set. I wanted to ask you folk’s whats your favourite thing to eat for breakfast or what cereal you eat? I’m a bit of a bore and have Weetabix. Sometimes I add a piece of fresh fruit. When I’m away on my holls I enjoy a cooked breakfast or fruit salad with Greek yogurt :) let me know your answers guys xx

Shopping Trip Haul – New Look, Dorothy Perkins etc

Hey there lovelies – how are you all doing?

I thought I would post a shopping trip I did in July – sorry I’m a lil late posting. I’ve been really impressed with this summer’s sales.

I noticed the New Look sale when I was out and actually went back the following week to have a good look through. I will be doing a New Look Haul from a separate shopping trip sometime very soon so watch out :)

On this occasion I met up with one of my friends and her beautiful baby boy. We went for lunch and had a nosy round the shops. I picked up some great bits.

I picked up a bargain spiked bracelet from Dorothy Perkins which I love and a trilby hat which I’ve already worn a few times now. I’m really pleased with the vintage rose snood I picked up – it’s so versatile and brightens any outfit!

I also got some essentials. Allura is a brand mainly available in Poundland/Poundworld. It’s kind of known as a cheapy brand but would really recommend there cotton pads as there so much softer than other brands.

I’ve grown to adore Poundland you can pick up some super bargains. Like many of you may already know they stock makeup and I’ve been lovin’ there range of brands available at the mo including Revlon, Rimmel and Boujous.

June/July Empties & Short Reviews

Products I will probably not repurchase...

Gok Wan Hand Lotion 200ml (In Set)

I quite liked the scent of this and the packaging was nice too. The dispenser was difficult to use however. I received this in a set for Christmas but wasn’t wowed by the quality to repurchase.

Percy & reed Moisturising Conditioner 100ml (Free)

I had high hopes for this even though it was free in a magazine. I found it quite moisturising but left my hair a bit limp after use which is why I only used a little at a time.

Radox Smoothies In Island Indulgence 200ml (£2.95)

I’m such a fan of the blackcurrant and cranberry version called soul soother. This item was passion fruit and papaya. The fragrance was less strong in comparison and could have bought another brand much cheaper and achieved the same results so quite disappointing.

Kylie Minogue Showtime Sparkling Body Lotion 150ml (In Set)

I bought this alongside the perfume and it leaves a lasting impression of the skin. Its a very sweet scent and theres little bits of glitter in the lotion to leave a sparkle too. I get bored of perfumes quite easily and this didn’t impress me enough to try out again.

Valentina by Valentino Perfume Sample (Free)

Described as bergamot, orange blossom touched by wild strawberry. I used the sample up but the scent was a little mature in my opinion.

Lovestruck Floral Rush by Vera Wang Perfume Sample (free)

One of my fav perfumes of all time is Vera Wang princess but this pefume described as a floral bouquet just didn’t live up and it wasn’t as elegant.

212 VIP by Carolina Herrera Perfume Sample (Free)

I thought this was ok the scent was a bit different but it’s a bit of a grandma scent. I would also say it’s more of a night time perfume as it’s quite strong.

Products I will probably repurchase...

Boots Extracts Mango Body Lotion 200ml (In Set)

I’ve been a fan of this mango range for a good while now but this is the first time I’ve tried the mango body lotion. I received this as part of a set at Christmas. I found the formula to be lovely and light and a nice alternative to the body butter version.

Boots Extracts Mango Body Wash 200ml (£4.25)

I have repurchased this about five times now and just keep going back. It’s a lovely authentic scent and a lovely luxury to use in the bath or shower.

FCUK Polished Body Spray 200ml (Price Unknown)

Another example of an item I’ve bought and bought again. Classic, sexy smell with long lasting staying power. Perfect just to spritz on during the day.

Radox Smoothies Soul Soother with Blackcurrant and Cranberry 50ml (£2.95 for 200ml)

This is one of my all time fav shower gels to use. The scent is divine and so soft on the skin. Many Superdrug stores are discontinuing the travel version disappointingly.

Prada Candy Perfume Sample (Free)

I’ve fallen in love with perfume – it’s beautiful.  I’m so tempted to by the 30ml however anything Prada is expensive. The scent is sweet and modern.

Johnson’s Daily Essentials Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes for Normal Skin 25 Wipes (£1.52)

After trying the night time version and loved it this had to be must purchase. The wipes are super soft on the skin and really gentle. The fragrance of the wipes is clean and fresh. Very impressed with this!

Flash Jimmy Choo Perfume Sample (Free)

This is the second sample I LOVED! Described as anticipation. build up. Excitement. is a floral bouquet of white flowers. Quite an unusual aroma perfect for day or night.

Most items can be bought at Superdrug or Boots.

Just in case you wondered the samples I picked up in my local perfume store. The assistant was very kind to give me the samples for my birthday party favour bags for guests. I kept a bag spare for myself :)

Whats your favourite product from the bunch? Have you been tempted try out anything here?

Superdrug Naturals Shampoo Cherry & Fig Fine Hair 300ml (£0.99)

I found this shampoo to be extremely good and excellent value for money considering the high level of quality received.

It did exactly what it said it would on the bottle ‘Helps nourish and boost volume ideal for fine hair’. I struggle to find other shampoos that do this well other than the John Frieda volume shampoo review here.

I adore the cherry & fig scent as I love anything fruity. The fig gives it that something extra. It’s quite a strong scent and lasts on the hair afterwards.

After use my hair felt strong, shiny and much more volumised. It gave that squeaky clean feeling straight after use which I always look for in a good shampoo.

I purchased the 300ml as it’s just the right amount to have a good trial and I think I will definitely repurchase. I recommend to anyone who has fine hair – top product! Click here to buy on Superdrug.co.uk

Lavera lipstick ‘Rosewood08’ £11.90

This is not the first Lavera lipstick I've bought. Last year I bought the same product in a different colour. Click here to view the review of ‘Amber02’.

After testing out Rosewood08 I found the colour to be complimentary of my skin tone and added a lovely tint to the lips. The colour is fairly close to my lip colour but with a touch of iridescent lilac in there.

It gives quite a natural finish and the formula is moisturising. I found this lipstick is great for everyday wear. The pigmentation is average but with a couple of coats the colour looks more prominent.

The packaging is well made but nothing overly stylish. I trust the brand as they cater for sensitive skin and I know if I buy anything from them the ingredients will be all natural.

Overall I’m really delighted with my purchase. I don’t often buy high-end or more expensive makeup products but I’m pleased with the results and hope to make the item a keen favourite in my makeup bag.

Do you favour all natural makeup products? Does this item look appealing to you? xx

Matrix Essentials ‘Amplify’ Volumizing Shampoo

Matrix hair products are available in many salons. I came across the brand a number of years ago at my local hairdressers. At the time I had coloured hair so used the coloured hair range.

I’ve always been impressed with the quality of the Matrix brand. There shampoos and other products work wonders on my hair. Another product to try is the nourishing shine cream as its one of the best products that I’ve ever used on my hair!

This summer I bought the amplify shampoo by Matrix. I found when using this only a small amount is needed and a lot goes a long way. The best way to use this product is every other wash to avoid residue build up. This can sometimes happen when always using the same shampoo.

I wanted fuller hair and a bit of lift at the roots. After using this product my hair was somewhat more volumized but the main thing I noticed was how shiny and in good condition it made my hair feel. I also found the fragrance very refreshing and lovely.

Overall the product was very high quality – plus the packaging is so sleek. I found it’s a great everyday shampoo and as mentioned I use it every other wash.

Go to: http://www.matrixhaircare.co.uk/ for more info on their product range. They also sell items in salons too so make sure to ask if they stock it at your local. I picked mine up for around £6.00 for 250ml.

I highly recommend there range. Have you tried salon brands before? Have you come across the Matrix Essentials brand?
