The Body Shop Shea Butter Richly Replenishing Shampoo

 

Hope my readers are doing well. Today I have a product review to share. I’m taking a pause from buying on Superdrug to try other shops. I’ve recently been into The Body Shop as they have a lot going for them. 

I’ve been using this shea butter shampoo for a little while now and I’m so pleased with it. It has a gentle formula, targeted at dry, prone to damage hair which appealed to me because lately my hair has felt pretty dry. After using the shampoo, I found it has been in much better condition, and more so after each wash.

The shea butter has a lovely, clean fragrance which lingers on in my hair. I bought the 400ml bottle but it’s possible to buy a smaller quantity. The packaging features the cruelty-free logo and mentions it’s 100% vegan. 

After buying this item I noticed The Body Shop have changed the packaging of their haircare to recycled materials. I think this is awesome and I would recommend you take a look on their website. I have already ordered the matching conditioner.

The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Body Lotion

 

Recently I’ve been using this body lotion from The Body Shop. It uses ingredients almond milk and honey, that give off a beautiful subtle fragrance. I found a little goes along way with the product, and the scent lingers on. This particular range is aimed at sensitive skin which really appealed to me. The product sinks in lovely which some lotions don’t do as well. My skin feels soft after each use.

On the back of the packaging, it mentions that community trade shea butter is used. It also states that it’s vegetarian and cruelty-free although the leaping bunny logo isn’t shown. Make sure you check out the links to learn more. This item retails at £8.50 for 200ml. I would recommend this product, particularly for those with sensitive skin.

The Body Shop Matte Lipstick in Honolula Pink

 

Hi – I’m back with a beauty product review. My make-up bag is fairly minimal, but I wanted to update it as well as having a bit of a sort though, getting rid of expired items. I tend to gravitate towards matte lipsticks as they seem to stay put longer so The Body Shop colour crush matte lipsticks looked interesting to me. 

I did some research on the different shades, and Honolula Pink seemed lovely. I found this shade very wearable, and flattering. I have fair skin, and would recommend it to others with pale skin. The staying power is great and I like the formula enough to buy other colours. The Body Shop is cruelty-free which is important to me. The packaging is simple, elegant and well made. Link here.

Jerome Russell Bstyled Hair Serum

 

Happy New Year! Hope everyone is doing okay. I bought myself this hair product before Christmas, and have been using it often since. So far, I’m pretty chuffed so I thought I would do a review. 

I mentioned to my hairdresser ages ago now that I had some flyaway hairs, and she suggested using a hair serum. I did a bit of searching and found this brand on Superdrug. I was impressed to see its cruelty-free, vegan as well as many other things.

I learnt quickly that only a pea size amount is necessary, so a little really does go a long way. Work the product into the hands and then through the hair. The smell of this product is beautiful, I feel like I’ve just stepped outside of the salon after use; I’m left with smooth, sleek hair.

I paid £6.99 but you can buy two BStyled products for £10.00 on Superdrug. The description of this product explains, ‘Replenish moisture and add shine back to your hair with this hair serum. Designed to make hair more manageable and smoother whilst adding hydration.’

Fruits Pineapple & Papaya Sugar Scrub Bar

It’s lovely to be back with a beauty product review as it’s been a while. I received this item for my birthday, and I've just started using it. Fruits is a brand by the shop Wilko in the UK. They offer an affordable selection of bath and shower products.

Today my review is of the pineapple and papaya sugar scrub bar. Initially I thought the bar would be awkward to use in the shower, but actually it’s pretty nifty, scrubbing away, leaving soft, smooth skin. 

The fruity scent is a pick me up in the winter months. I put it in a plastic container to keep it safe after use. Amazingly this item retails at £1.00. As far as I am aware, it’s not cruelty-free sadly but I’ve been enjoying using this product overall.

Eco-friendly Bamboo Toothbrushes

Like many of us I’ve been looking for ways to make more environmentally friendly choices. I’d seen bamboo toothbrushes about for a while now, and thought this would be a good step for me. It may only be a small thing, but I think it’s a good start along with a few other things I’ve been doing.

I found these toothbrushes on eBay. They are a pack of three, with different bristle colours just in case you are buying for a family. The packaging is recyclable card. The bristles are lovely and soft, and the wood handle is lovely to hold; overall they are a pleasure to use. I paid less than £2.00 for the set including postage. If you want to look for yourself, use the search term 'bamboo toothbrush' on eBay and loads will pop up.

Superdrug Bloom Body Mists

 

Hi again. I bought these body sprays a while back now and have been using them frequently. I’ve done a few reviews of body sprays on my blog; the good thing about them is they are fairly inexpensive and more commonly cruelty-free than perfumes.

You can buy these bloom body sprays from Superdrug. They have a wide collection of fragrances so you will be spoilt for choice. I went for the dark berry and jasmine as well as driftwood and sea salt. Both are absolutely lovely, and the quality feels better than some of the cheaper brands. 

They are priced at £6 for two at the moment and I feel they have lasting power once applied to the skin. I’ve been eyeing up the pink peony and cashmere for my next purchase. They would make wonderful gifts too. They are vegan and have the leaping bunny logo.

Superdrug Pro Vitamin Classic Shampoo & Conditioner

Welcome back – today I have a review of a shampoo and conditioner I’ve been using. They are from the affordable, cruelty-free, Superdrug range. The Superdrug own brand have a few shampoo/conditioners available, but this pro vitamin classic range seemed like a great everyday option. With the simple, standard looking packaging, it could seem like any brand but it’s become a firm favourite.

You can buy the shampoo and conditioner separately both retailing at £2.29 but look out for offers like I did. As I mentioned previously it’s inexpensive, and cruelty-free but it also leaves your hair silky soft and smells incredible. My hair really noticed the difference after washing, and the scent lingered on in my hair for days. I can’t fault this shampoo/conditioner as it’s a good all-rounder.

Superdrug Simply Pure Calming Cleanser

I’ve been using this cleanser for about a month so I thought it was about time I did a review of it. My normal go-to cleanser is by Simple because it’s so gentle on the skin, but it’s not cruelty-free unfortunately. So with that thought I wanted to give the Superdrug Simply Pure one a go which features the leaping bunny logo.

“Developed for sensitive skin, Simply Pure products are mild, gentle and 100% fragrance free.” I would agree with this statement on the Superdrug website, the cleanser is mild and gentle on the skin. It removes make-up well and overall I’m pleased with the results.

I can see myself repurchasing, and switching from the Simple brand to this Superdrug own brand. It retails at £2.99 for 200ml but there’s nearly always an offer on. There are other things in the range such as serums, toner, face wash, etc. Click here to view the range.

Barry M All Night Long Stick Foundation

Hello to my lovely readers. Today I have a make-up product review to share. For quite a while now my go-to face product has been the Gosh BB cream in sand but I fancied a change, and I’m so glad I stumbled across the Barry M stick foundation. Barry M is one of the best cruelty-free drugstore brands about, so I had a good browse of their products, and this had some excellent reviews. By no means is this a new product, although it’s new to me.

My shade is the lightest, and it’s named milk, which is a particularly great match for my fair skin. The shade range is great, so I’m sure everyone will find a perfect match. This foundation comes in a stick form, so it can be applied directly to the skin. I agree with their comment about it being a medium coverage, as the coverage is really good. The product feels quite concentrated, but it’s fairly easy to blend, and I like the effect on the skin. It retails at £6.99, click here to buy.

Morrison's Cocoa Butter Moisturising Lotion

I’ve treated myself to quite a few beauty related essentials lately. I used to buy body butters/moisturisers quite a bit although not as frequently now. I was looking on the Morrison’s website a little while ago at their own brand beauty products, and this popped up with lots of great reviews. It retails at £1.00 which is pretty extraordinary for 400ml.

The cocoa scent is absolutely stunning, and reminds me a little of the discontinued Boots Extracts cocoa butter range. The packaging is pretty standard, with its orange and brown design. The lotion sinks into the skin well, and the cocoa scent lingers on. This product is cruelty-free, and features the leaping bunny logo which I always look out for. View product online here.

Original Source Water Infusions Range

Hope my blog readers are doing well. Today I’m excited to share my thoughts on some new to me Original Source shower gels. I think the water infusions range has been in the shops a little while now, and I’ve been wanting to give them a go. I treated myself to some for Christmas, and have been pleased with using them in the shower since.

Original Source is one of my favourite brands for shower gels, particularly for the scents along with the fact they are vegan. I find the branding really eye-catching too, so the products are easy to spot on the shop shelves. I wasn’t sure whether the water infusions were going to be as good as the standard range, I was worried the consistency would be a bit runny, but it’s actually a bit jelly/gel like, and easy to use.

Again I figured the scent wouldn’t be as strong, but both the raspberry and rose as well as apple and melon have a prominent scent, that is so fresh, and beautiful. I don’t have a favourite of these, I love them both! The retail for about £1 each for 250ml, which is extremely affordable.

Co-op Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner

Christmas is getting near now! I hope you are all well. Today I have a review of a shampoo and conditioner I bought in my local Co-op for a very affordable £1.95 each. It was lovely to see they have the cruelty-free leaping bunny logo featured, and the packaging is just stunning. I love the sleek, minimal feel to it.

Sadly I was a little disappointed with the actual product. While my hair did feel nourished and revitalised like the label mentions, I found it made my head itch after each use. I also wasn’t a big fan of the synthetic vanilla scent. I did have high hopes for these, the packaging was one of my favourites, but sadly they weren’t for me.
