Faith in Nature Lavender Shampoo & Conditioner

Hi to you all and welcome back, today I’m going to be reviewing a shampoo and conditioner by Faith in Nature which I featured in a recent haul. I buy most of my toiletries on the Superdrug website, as they offer free delivery over £10 and have a wide range of cruelty-free products. I went for FIN, a natural, vegan brand on this occasion, as I wanted to give myself a treat. I’ve been eyeing the lavender scent for ages now, I would regard it as an autumn winter fragrance and also I like the calming properties. I paid £5.49 for the shampoo and the same for the conditioner and both are 400ml, though Superdrug do offers sometimes so you can buy cheaper from the brands extensive range.

So how did I get on with these? Wow I was really impressed, and I enjoyed using the products very much. The lavender and geranium scent was so lovely, and the formula of the shampoo and conditioner was spot on, my hair felt nourished, shiny and manageable after each use. I do like the sophisticated packaging too although I’ve spotted the newest FIN brand packaging hitting some of the shops, personally I prefer the old design but the new is more modern. Buy here.

Would I recommend these? Definitely. Either for yourself or even as a gift.

Kind Natured Jam Doughnut Shampoo

Welcome to a new post, today I will be reviewing this shampoo which I have been using for a little while now. This is the second product I have bought from the Kind Natured brand, the first being a tutti frutti detangling spray which I found to be lovely. Keep reading for my honest thoughts on my newest purchase…

I was super excited to try the detangling jam doughnut shampoo, the scent sounded right up my street, and I wanted to see if my hair detangled well like the name suggested. I would say the scent is true to the description, it’s gorgeous, and the shampoo consistency even feels like jam which I loved. I was also impressed with how manageable and shiny my hair felt afterwards, and the scent lingered on.

I love the stylish packaging, and the price point is reasonable, this particular item is £2.99 for 200ml. They have an adults range of products too which I am yet to try. In the kids section the apple smoothie shampoo looks tempting…! The brand seems to nail their fragrances and provide a varied range of products all available at Boots.

The brand states the product is free from sulphates, parabens and petrochemicals, and they are suitable to use on your kids. This product as are all the others is 97% natural which I think is awesome, and it’s nice to see they are available on the high street. I would definitely recommend this item, and I can’t wait to experiment more with the brand! Buy the product here.

What shampoo are you currently using?
Are you interested to try out this brand after my recommendation? :-) Xx

The Library of Fragrance Paperback Eau de Toilette

Hi all, it’s so lovely to be back after taking a little break. Today I’m reviewing a fragrance which I bought recently, and just had to tell you all about it. I introduced myself to The Library of Fragrance brand over the summer, with my first purchase from them, with the scent ‘Sunshine’. At the beginning of autumn, I’d ran out and was eager to try something else by them. They had such a great collection of different singular scents, with cute names, I was stuck for choice. I eventually settled on ‘Paperback’ as it seemed to go with my love of reading and there were many positive reviews.

With buying online, I had to wait until my purchase arrived before I could see if the fragrance was for me. I sprayed some onto my wrists, and as it warmed to my skin for a few minutes, I began to fall in love, it’s such a unique, unforgettable scent. I think seasonally this is a perfect buy, either as a gift or for yourself and great for book lovers. Cruelty-free and vegan, £15.00 for a 30ml Eau de Toilette. Click here to buy online.

Read this to get a feel of the scent…. “The Library of Fragrance ‘Paperback’ Cologne celebrates our love affair with literature, with a backdrop of milky-vanilla sweetness, joined by delicate woody facets and just a touch of must and dust. It smells just like your favourite second hand bookshop.”

Does this brand interest you too?
What’s your go-to autumn/winter perfume? :-) Xx

A Beauty Haul: Products for Autumn into Winter

Just recently, I did an online shopping haul with Boots collect+ and Superdrug for a mixture of essential and luxury items. At the beginning of autumn, I was just about finished with my previous perfume by Library of Fragrance. I was delighted with the brand so I thought I would try another fragrance from them. The ‘Paperback’ scent really drew me in, it sounded perfect for autumn/winter and I liked the book association as I’ve found over these months, I do more cosy reading with a blanket and hot chocolate. It seemed like a fun thing, to buy the perfume, and the reviews I read were very positive.

Next is my second ever purchase from Kind Natured at Boots, I’ve been interested in this natural brand lately, and had my eye on the jam doughnut shampoo, which was a very much needed toiletry, as my last shampoo ran out. The next two items I ordered from Superdrug, and each having the leaping bunny logo for being cruelty-free. Flutter is a beautiful brand by Superdrug, they have fun packaging, budget friendly prices and would make good Christmas gifting. These soap flowers were a little treat, and I can’t wait to indulge in a bath of flower petals.

Lastly I picked up a shower gel, by Superdrug Spaa, I’m not going to do a separate review post for this, and instead I’ll give you a quick summary now. I really rate the brand, I was first drawn to the marble packaging, and reasonable price point. They have a large range, so I might go back for more, as I loved the shower gel, particularly for the spa like scent.

I’ll be doing a few follow up review posts soon...
Let me know which products from this haul caught your eye! :-) Xx

Burt’s Bees Vanilla Bean Lip Balm

Hi to you all, today I wanted to do a review of a lip balm, so keep reading if you want to find out more.... My good friend bought me a Burt’s Bees gift set for my birthday, with all sorts of handy products in there. You can actually buy the items individually, so I thought I would do individual reviews for the products I enjoyed the most. My existing lip balm was the Hurraw! lime flavoured one, and was an exciting purchase at the time, but I’ve had it a while now, so was happy to be gifted a new one to try.

From doing a little research this Burt’s Bees product comes in more than one flavour, but the vanilla bean sounded appealing to me, and after the first application, I was very pleased with the way it was scented. Vanilla is one of those that you can enjoy any time of the year too. The packaging is nicely made, and I love the mix of vibrant yellow against the navy and red. While using the lip balm, I enjoyed the smooth, gliding application which wasn’t greasy, and it felt comfortable on the lips, leaving them soft and moisturised.

The Burt’s Bees brand is known for being all natural, and on the Naturisimo website they are stated as cruelty-free, but with the loophole of being sold in China, a country which participates in animal testing as a law. It confuses me too! Despite that, I am happy with my new lip balm, along with some other bits from the gift set, reviews coming soon! Buy the lip balm here for £3.99.

Lily Lolo Cheek Duo In Naked Pink

Today I’m going to be reviewing a make-up product by a natural brand called Lily Lolo. To my knowledge I think this is the second item I’ve tried from them, the first was a loose mineral eyeshadow which I got free with a large order on Naturisimo. I’d been eyeing this particular blush palette for a while now, plus I wanted a subtle pop of colour in the autumn and winter months. It comes with two shades, a gorgeous darker pink and a lighter pink with a shimmer. The product retails for £14.99 on Naturisimo, which seems rather pricey, but I wanted to take positive steps towards having a cruelty-free make-up stash. I’ve tried a number of natural products now, and really love the quality across a variety of brands.

So let’s talk about how the product works for me. My first thought when I received this item, was the palette seemed a lot smaller than I had expected. But with it being a small compact, it’s actually handy for popping in your bag and the packaging is well made, with a large, good quality mirror. It has a perfect pigmentation for a blush, and it layers up well. The two shades are natural, yet pretty, and suit my pale skin really nicely. They can be used together, I’ve found the darker shade is perfect for the apples of the cheeks and the shimmer makes a wonderful highlight. The overall quality is impressive and I’m over the moon with it!! :-) View product here.

Here’s some details you might find useful: 100% natural. Vegan. Not tested on animals. Cruelty Free. Gluten free. Free from nano particles, parabens, bismuth oxychloride, talc, synthetic dyes, fillers, fragrance and preservatives.

Have you come across Lily Lolo make-up before? What blush palette do you use? :-) Xx

Noughty Rise & Shine Haircare

Hello and welcome to a new beauty post, today I wanted to share my thoughts on the Noughty haircare brand which is available in Superdrug. I was so curious about the range, mainly down to it being 97% natural. Free from petrochemicals, parabens, sulphates, silicones, and also being vegan and cruelty-free. And I’m sure you’ve noticed how pretty the packaging is – right? I loved the muted pinks and lilacs throughout, they are definitely very instagramable! At full price, they retail for £6.99 each for the shampoo as well as the conditioner however they are frequently doing offers to get more money off.

So let’s get down to the nitty gritty – how effective were they to use? The tube packaging made using the products in the shower very easy. The shampoo did have a faux silicone like texture which I liked and the conditioner was nice and thick in consistency. They claim to make hair shiny, which I feel they did, but I found the shampoo just a tad drying, so I decided to be more generous with the conditioner, which helped. I wasn’t amazed by how my hair felt afterwards sadly, I was expecting just a little something extra for the price. I was trying the everyday shine range, but maybe other products from Noughty could be better? Overall I was pleased but not astounded. View range here.

Have you tried it for yourself?

Kind Natured ‘Tutti Frutti’ Hair Detangling Spray

Today I wanted to share with you the last product review from my summer beauty haul I featured back in June. I’ve almost run out of my Matrix smoothing cream which is the best detangling hair product I’ve ever come across. So expectations were high to see if this Kind Natured brand could replace a much loved favourite. Although it’s featured in the kids section, I thought why not try it out for myself.

There is a different method of using it, that I haven’t tried before, it’s says “Spray onto towel-dry hair from a distance of about 20cm. Gently comb through and style hair as usual. No need to rinse.” I can see this method working great for youngsters, maybe at the swimming baths etc. I followed the instructions with my own twist by spraying as suggested but they blow drying before brushing through. I’ve been told combing wet hair isn’t great to keep it in good condition.

So what were my thoughts? I loved the fragrance, it’s quite fresh and reminds me of summertime, although I wouldn’t say it smells of tutti fruitti that much. Using the product with my own method worked completely fine, it seemed to smooth and detangle my hair on the whole and spraying it was really refreshing too. I did feel £2.99 was a bit overpriced but it’s a natural brand, free from sulphates, parabens and petrochemicals. It’s not tested on animals and is vegan friendly. Some natural products are more expensive, so I guess it was an okay deal. They have loads of other interesting products, aimed at adults and kids, I fancy the jam donut shampoo as well as the lip balms.

So would I recommend it? Yeah for sure! It’s available at Boots, link here.

A Beauty Haul: Products for Summer

It feels truly like summer now, with the amazing weather we’ve been having, therefore I wanted to share lots of season appropriate products that I have been buying. I recently had just over £20 on my Boots advantage card which I spent. For those who don’t already know you can collect four points for every £1 you spend, with one point equal to one penny. I had a good look on Boots online to find some ethical/natural beauty products. I’ve been wanting to try the Kind Natured brand for a while, so I can’t wait to use their tutti frutti hair detangling spray.

I just finished a perfume bottle, and was looking for something for the summer months, I normally gravitate towards Escada, but I spotted ‘Sunshine’ by The Library Of Fragrance and was instantly drawn to it. It’s also cruelty-free making it a win win. To fill my basket up, I bought two additional items, I love the Boots Extracts brand which include fairtrade ingredients and was curious to see if their body sprays were any good, I picked the mango one. Lastly I chose an Original Source shower gel in mango, a super affordable brand and also vegan friendly.

Full reviews to come!
Do any of the items interest you?
What products do you like for summer?! Xx

Lily Lolo Loose Mineral Eyeshadow ‘Pink Champagne’

Today I am reviewing an eyeshadow by Lily Lolo, it’s my first product to try by the brand and I actually received it free when I placed an order with naturisimo.com. To buy it costs £6.50 which seems quite reasonable for what you get. I didn’t get to choose the shade with the offer but the pink shimmer tone is lovely to apply all over the lid for a fresh day-to-day spring look. The packaging is super sleek, I love the monochrome vibes and compact pot. An unfortunate negative about the tub, is I struggled keeping the loose mineral product in the pot, and although it came with a divider to get a little bit at a time, this didn’t really help. I’m willing to overlook this, as the product is good quality and produces a sophisticated look to the eyes.

The effect isn’t overpowering either, it looks fairly subtle, but the loose powder can be built up for a more vivid style. They have tons of other shades to choose from too. I can see the brand being great for teens just getting into natural makeup. The good news is Lily Lolo makeup is 100% natural, not tested on animals, vegetarian (may contain carmine). Free from harsh chemicals, parabens, fragrance and preservatives. Other items by them I want to try include their blush duo and many of their makeup brushes. View range here.

Have you heard of Lily Lolo? What eye-shadow shades do you gravitate towards? :-) Xx

Higher Living English Earl Grey Tea

Last summer I tried a new tea brand for the first time called Hiving Living and picked the super fruits variety, review here. Although I discovered the super fruits flavour was a bit sharp for my liking there were other flavours I really wanted to try such as Sweet Dreams and this one English Earl Grey. Although it’s quite a common kind of tea, until now I had never experimented with it before. The taste was lovely, and quite unusual but the floral quality really grew on me. Just like perfumes, I find the scents/tastes of teas remind me of memories. I’m sat sipping on the last teabag on this tea, and it takes me back to September last year when I started drinking it.

It explains on the packaging, this tea works well with a splash of milk or iced with a slice of lemon. I found with milk, it was a lovely drink to have on an afternoon. It’s a nice compromise between herbal and regular tea I think and might even repurchase it sometime. It’s a little pricey at £4.99 so quite an indulgent treat, and even great for gifting. Happily it’s an organic brand plus the packaging is pretty especially the illustrations. Overall I found it very luxurious, and I want to carry on working my way through the range. Buy online here.

Have you ever tried English Earl Grey and was it your thing?
Do Hiving Living teas interest you? :-) Xx

Borlind Natural Lipstick In Celebrity Red

I’m so excited to be sharing this product with you, it’s probably my favourite product I discovered in 2016 and that is the Anne Marie Borlind lipstick in celebrity red. I actually received it for my birthday back in July, but because of the autumnal colour, I’ve only just started using it. When selecting this product, I wanted the perfect matte red lipstick. In the swatch photo it comes across more pink toned but like the name suggests it’s a classic red. It says it’s a matte formula which it is, but it’s much more moisturising and wearable than others I’ve tried. I actually prefer it to some of my Mac lipsticks which feel more apparent on the lips.

I love the name celebrity red, and it’s the kind of colour you could see celebrities wearing on the red carpet. When I apply it to my lips its feels like a very special product, I think the colour would suit a variety of skin tones, even paler skin such as mine. Originally I was going to get the iconic Mac Ruby Woo lipstick instead but this wasn’t natural. I’m so glad I choose a Borlind product instead as its natural, carmine, paraben, and sulphate free, not tested on animals and cruelty free. At £13.95 it’s around the same price point as a Mac lipstick, but if you want to treat yourself, I highly recommend it! This would make an awesome Christmas gift for a special female in your life too. You can buy it on naturisimo.com where there are a lot of positive reviews of it which may be worth a read too. They also offer free delivery, check out the product here.

Do you like red lipsticks too? What lipstick brands do you favour? :-) Xxx

Faith In Nature Chocolate Shower Gel & Foam Bath

Wishing you all a happy Halloween and hope your day so far is a good one. Today I’m back with a product from Faith In Nature, their chocolate shower gel and foam bath. If you are after satisfying a chocolate craving this is a great alternative, the scent is gorgeous and very authentic. I don’t use it as a foam bath so much, but in the past it has created lots of bubbles. I’ve been using this in the shower over the last month, and have been enjoying it. It has a great lather and the 400ml bottle is long lasting. I just keep coming back to this brand, they are cruelty-free, organic and include all natural ingredients. I don’t think I’ve bought one product by them that I don’t like, I know the shampoos are lovely too! They have other note-worthy scents, the pineapple and lime or grapefruit and orange is nice for summer time. If you want to buy FIN products I recommend Amazon, Holland&Barrett, Superdrug or their official website. The pricing varies with where you buy it and if postage is free, I paid £5.75 (free P&P) on Amazon, link here.

Would you like to try this?
Do you like a chocolate fragrance in beauty/bath products too? :-) Xx
