The Sitting Room Café Review and Tour

Today I’m going to be sharing with you a café located in Saltburn which I visited with my parents at the end of last year. It was a bit of a spur of the moment thing as another café we tried was closed. The feel of The Sitting Room café is definitely trendy, while my parents weren’t sure it was there scene, I personally really enjoyed the visit.

I’ve been a couple of times now and the tea selection is extremely good. On the day I visited with my folks, I had an earl grey tea and shared some buttered toast with my Mum. Both were really tasty, and the presentation of the food and drink was lovely. They had some cakes available which looked promising but I’ve been avoiding any sugary things.

I think this café would appeal to bloggers because it’s a very photogenic place. The cakes tend to vary depending on when you go and their drinks list is impressive. They also open in the evenings if you ever fancy going for a cocktail. The menu is a little pricier but the service is friendly. I would recommend you give the place a try.

Does this café look like a place you would want to try?
What do you normally order when visiting a cafe? :-) Xx

Winter Clothing Haul

Hi – hope you are all well, today I’ve got a few clothing items I’ve been purchasing over the winter months to share. These days I don’t buy as many clothes, but winter is probably my favourite time to shop as I love cosy knits and things that keep you warm. I went shopping two times, the first time I popped into Peacocks just before Christmas, I had a voucher and managed to get some money off. Often they give you them at the till, and I recommend you look out for them.

On the day Peacocks seemed to be stocking some really lovely pieces, and I spent a while trying things on and I came out with some great, staple items. I picked up two jumpers, each with a different detail to make them special. I saw this pale blue slouchy jumper and loved the colour as well as the lattice detailing on the sleeve. The second jumper has a beautiful role neck with an intricate pattern and feather quality all through the fabric. I had a quick look at the sports wear, and this asymmetric striped top had the softest fabric and the style I felt would be very wearable.

On another day, I popped into Shoe Zone which I think is actually an underrated shop in my view. I loved the pastels colours of these cosy socks, and I needed to restock so I got those along with some super cosy gloves, lined with fleece. I was pleased with my purchases as I know they will get a lot of wear.

What I Purchased:

Peacocks
Blue slouchy lattice detail jumper £18.00
Navy feather detail roll neck jumper £20.00
Cosy asymmetric striped tee £15.00

(I used a £10 off voucher which can be
used if you spend over a certain amount)

Shoe Zone
Two pack of cosy socks £2.99
Ladies cosy lined lilac gloves £6.99

What’s your favourite season to shop for clothes?
Do you shop in Peacocks or Shoe Zone too? :-) Xx

New Year Misc. Haul

Welcome back and happy 2019! I took a little break and thought I would start off the year with a collective haul. Most of these items are very inexpensive, and I picked them up in the sales or otherwise over the winter months. As always I picked up a diary and calendar for the year, I’ve grown to love The Works selection, and was so pleased to snap up this funky flamingo calendar and a sophisticated navy diary. I really do recommend The Works, for their prices and quality.

I bought some cruelty-free make-up bits including a Gosh BB cream and a Barry M concealer. The Gosh item is a repurchase, but I still have a little review to write up about it. The concealer I’ve never tried before, but I’ve been getting into the Barry M brand lately. I’ve slowly made my way through the different scents of the Superdrug treat me shower gels, they’ve all been amazing, the honey and ginger was my last to try.

I needed to fill up my basket for free delivery, and this bath bomb crumble caught my eye, I haven’t got around to using it yet but I’m looking forward to it. Lastly I picked up this cute battery powered light up star, it sits very comfortably on a shelf in my room, and gives off a cosy light.
