Barry M Lip Gloss in Pink

Today’s post will be a review of this lip gloss. I don’t normally wear lip glosses but I received it in a gift set and decided to give you my thoughts.

It’s a lovely natural pink colour with a smidge of iridescent. There is a great selection of colours but being a lip gloss I don’t think the colours will stand out like lipsticks would.

It’s not too sticky, quite a smooth light feel. I did find it wasn’t as long lasting as I hoped however it had a lovely bubble gum scent, perfect for a lip gloss. The packaging is also fab, really bold and pretty. The sturdy applicator makes it easy to apply.

The price at £4.49 in boots (click here to buy) makes it not too bad compared to other drugstore brands. Overall it seems just your ordinary pink lip gloss. Perfect for a gift or to treat yourself.

What lip products have you been lovin’ at the mo? Xx

Boots Extracts Fairtrade Shower Gels // Strawberry, Brazil Nut & Vanilla

Just before Christmas Extracts had rebranded there range and brought out a couple of new fragrances. I was in Boots and decided to pick up some of their shower gels in the 3for2 offer. The brazil nut range is incredible and include my must have holy grail products.

The strawberry scent is fresh and fruity. Unfortunately I don’t like it as much as the brazil nut, mango, cranberry etc. The scent isn’t as authentic but I still enjoyed using it. To be honest the same can be said for the vanilla scented shower gel. It just doesn’t match up to some of the original scents.

The quality of the actual shower gels is really nice though as I would expect from Extracts. It lathers up very nicely and the feel of the shower gel is really luxurious.  I like the new packaging and am still a firm follower of the brazil nut and mango in particular. Click here to view the range. The shower gels retail at £4.50 each.

Have you tried anything by Boots Extracts? Which scent do you prefer?

Mac ‘Brave’ Satin Lipstick // My Second Mac Purchase

I got this lipstick as a gift last July for my Birthday. This was before a lot of the hype was created for ‘Brave’. I’ve noticed lots more exposure just recently and it reminded me that I had yet to review it!

The Satin finish is just right because it’s a little matt but not too much. Compared to my first purchase ‘Plumful’ (review and swatch here!) which is a lustre finish which is glossier. Although Brave is more matt it’s not too drying and sits nicely on the lips.

The colour is really beautiful and perfect for any occasion. It’s mostly a mauvey muted pink but with a little nude colour in it. In fact it has fairly similar tone to ‘Plumful’ just a little more subtle and much more wearable during the day.

I would say it suits many skin tones and for me it’s almost that my own lip colour but better look. I’ve heard Sammi from Beauty Crush talk about this lipstick too. She has a more of an olive skin tone and I have really pale skin so it really can suit everyone!

What Mac Lipstick have you been lovin’ at the mo? Have you tried ‘Brave’ or even ‘Plumful’?

Christmas Sales Shopping // What I bought

I did most of my sale shopping online this year. I knew I wouldn’t be getting as many bath sets for Christmas so on Christmas Eve I made a few cheeky purchases on Boots.co.uk

I’ve been wanting to buy Jimmy Choo flash for a while, it’s such a versatile, chic everyday fragrance. I bagged it in the sale which I was chuffed about. I bought two Origins bath sets in the sale too. I’m so in love with their products. I love the Gloom Away range and my new fav is there Ginger range.

I’ve heard lots of beauty guru’s talk about This Works as a brand. I wanted to try out there range and sale time seemed the perfect opportunity so I purchased a Christmas beauty cracker.

I popped into town too and went in New Look, Dorothy Perkins and Peacocks. I tried on loads of different things but came out with only one full priced top in Dorothy Ps, some homeware accessories in WHSmiths/Wilko and new hair brush. I was pleased with my purchases but there wasn’t anything worthwhile in the highstreet sale.

What did you buy in the Sales? What was your impression, were there many good deals? Xxx
